The last one was the Queen Mother's and worn by her in the early years. I do not recall seeing the brooch worn by her or the Queen since this 1940 picture. --Previous Message-- : Since this week we have been treated to some : less that often seen brooches, I though that : I would delve into my "TBD" (To Be : Determined) files to see if any one can : provide some insight into a couple of items : that may be "less often seen" as : well. : : Here goes. The first picture in from a tour : to Nigeria circa 1960. The brooch has a : unique shape but it does not spring to mind. : There is some glare which does not help but : maybe one of you has a thought as to which : brooch it may be. : : : : : The next one is also from the mid to late : 50's. The Queen's brooch looks to be a bird : with spread wings. I do not think it is a : badge, but then again I am not sure. Any : thoughts ?? : : : : Lastly an even more vintage picture of Pns : Elizabeth with Pns Margaret. Here the : brooch seems to be a knot/scroll - perhaps : in diamonds. : : : : : Cheers! : Bryce :
