How wonderful to see these close-ups. Thank you so much, Tamara!
Arthur, I think that the blond braid is part of the tiara frame and not Elisbetta's hair. It seems that there is a white thread connecting the braid with the tiara frame. But the effect of disguising the frame is very good. I also noticed that the ends of the tiara are incorporated into the hairdo, which looks very nice. Much better than popping the tiara onto the finished hairdo, like one sometimes sees on other ladies.
I too never before noticed the central diamond. And I like how the geometric art deco design is combined with the leaf motive of a small laurel wreath threaded through the geometric pattern.
The bride looked so lovely and stunning with this tiara. And yet I'd have loved to see her wear the Savoy-Aosta tiara, it would have been very good with this lace gown. (Ah, if only more brides could do the Sophie Isenburg number and wear several tiaras for their weddings. What about wearing the art deco tiara on the way into the church, come out with the Savoy Aosta tiara, and don the other tiara of Princess Margherita for the wedding ball? - Yes, I know, I'm just greedy )
