I too surmised that this brooch might have been a gift back in the 1940's or 50's.
Cheers! Bryce
--Previous Message-- : Well spotted, Joye! : : This brooch is pictured in Angela Kelly's : book Dressing The Queen . : : It looks like a flower bouquet, with the : five flowers made of sapphire and ruby : petals with a diamond centre, surrounded by : engraved emerald leaves, and diamond stems. : Lovely and beautiful - and typical of the : multigem "tutti frutti" jewellery : style that Cartier made fashionable in the : 1920s/1930s. Maybe it was another gift to : the Queen in the early years of her life. : : I do not know if the Queen has ever worn : this brooch before last Sunday, but I have : no pictures of her wearing it. : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Looks like a brooch from Angela Kelly book. : : --Previous Message-- : I don't recognize the brooch HM wore at : Crathie Church on Sunday, September 14. It : appears to have green and red stones. Is : this a new one? : : : : : : :
