This brooch is a gift from the shipbuilders and owners when Princess Elizabeth launched the British Princess, an oil tanker in 1946. It is a "platinum-set chrysanthemum brooch with sapphire stamens and diamond petals and stem." This description coming from Field, p.121. The picture I believe is from the Queen's Christmas broadcast given at Sandringham in 1952.
