Was it ever officially confirmed that Queen Letizis's "own" fleur-de-lys tiara really exists? Or is it just a rumour spread on the net? We know that the diamond fleur-de-lys exists and has been regularly used as a brooch. But what about the tiara itself? We have never seen it, nor did we have a confirmation from the Casa Real about this supposed gift from Felipe to Letizia. I remain puzzled by the very clumsy design of the tiara - more adapted, in my humble opinion, to a beauty pageant contest than to the creation of a skilled, renowned and century-old royal jeweller... The central diamond fleur-de-lys used as a brooch: --Previous Message-- : You are right Stefan, I was forgetting the new : fleur de lys tiara! : I would be a nice statement for the new : Queen to attend her first oficial gala as : such, wearing her own tiara. : Previously she only wore the fleur de lys : central motif as a brooch. I'm keeping my : fingers crossed, and expect maybe she'll : surprise us someway . : : : : --Previous Message-- : I would also think the shell tiara would be : nice for a change. Or perhaps her new tiara. : The floral wreath tiara suits Letizia : perfectly but she has used it soo often in : the past that a change would be nice. : Probably it will also depend if Queen Sofia : also attends. : : --Previous Message-- : I would not expect any outstanding glitter : at : the Chile visit, nor big jewelry surprises. : But the Queen has plenty of more modern : jewelry pieces and can surprise us. : : I'm certainly not expecting Queen Letizia to : wear the "joyas de pasar", I'm : guesing they are reserved for visits from : reigning monarchs or specially important : visits. Thats when Queen Sofia wore them : also. : : My guess would be the floral tiara (that : suits her wonderfuly), her wedding earrings, : perhaps a diamond bracelet. Not sure she : will wear a necklace, it would depend also : on the cleavage of her chosen dress. : : : : But I really would love to see her wear : again the Foam Waves tiara, worn only once : as Pss of Astúrias. : : : : The Prussian tiara she wore as bride doesn't : suit her so well, imho. : : Lets see what smaller tiara Queen Letizia : will borrow from Queen Sofia (as we know : these tiaras are personal property of the : former Queen). : : : : : --Previous Message-- : It is, to say the truth, hardly a surprise. : Letizia, Mathilde and Maxima all follow, : jewellerywise, the path that they had : already followed when they were Crown : princesses - and, to some extent, the trend : set by their respective forerunners. : : I agree with Gert-Jan: on the chapter of : jewels, Maxima is the best! It is not just : that she wears the jewels that are at her : disposal. She visibly enjoys wearing jewels, : she loves playing with them and taking : advantage of their potential of versatility, : and she adds new pieces to the collection! A : true delight for this board! : : Regarding Queen Letizia, and the level of : glitter which should be the "rule" : for King Philip VI's reign, we should have : an idea very soon: as posted by Pedro on the : GREMB, the President of Chile, Michelle : Bachelet, is scheduled to pay a state visit : to Spain at the end of this month of : October: : : : : : http://members3.boardhost.com/Oranjes/msg/1410954244.html : : : : --Previous Message-- : Queen Maxi is the best :D she really loves : jewelry. : : --Previous Message-- : Queen of Spain : : Only pearl or diamond earrings. : No diamond brooch no diamond necklace. : No State Glittering Event since Her Reign. : : Queen of the Belgians. : the same : But one State Visit and She wore the : bandeau version of Nine Province tiara : : Queen of the Netherlands : She wore diamond earrings , brooches , : necklaces. : Her tiaras are wonderful with non puffy hear : ! : : : : : : : : : : : :
