Hello, I have never seen this large pendant before either. Very surprising... a good suprise! I wish we can have better pictures of the banquet to see this brooch more clearly. I would guess it is an multigem jewel, typical of Cartier's style in the 1920s-1930s, but that is only speculation from me. I have found on the net the same picture, but without watermark: The diamond honeysuckle tiara was made by E. Wolff & Co. for Garrard in 1913-1914 with diamonds from the dismantled County of Surrey Necklace/Tiara (a wedding present to Queen Mary in 1893) (see Roberts, The Queen's Diamonds, page 164, text and footnotes 2 and 3). The diamond rivieres are also probably gifts or bequests from Queen Mary. I do not know the origin of the large diamond cluster earrings. The current Duchess of Gloucester has worn them regularly. Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, has worn them too.
