Rex Features has some pictures without the cape. The pendant appears modern (and Arabic?) to me. http://www.rexfeatures.com/search/?kw=of+gloucester+singapore+2014&order=newest&iso=GBR&lkw=of+gloucester+singapore&viah=Y&stk=N&sft=&search_action_desktop= --Previous Message-- : Hello, : : I have never seen this large pendant before : either. Very surprising... a good suprise! I : wish we can have better pictures of the : banquet to see this brooch more clearly. I : would guess it is an multigem jewel, typical : of Cartier's style in the 1920s-1930s, but : that is only speculation from me. I have : found on the net the same picture, but : without watermark: : : : : The diamond honeysuckle tiara was made by E. : Wolff & Co. for Garrard in 1913-1914 : with diamonds from the dismantled County of : Surrey Necklace/Tiara (a wedding present to : Queen Mary in 1893) (see Roberts, The : Queen's Diamonds , page 164, text and : footnotes 2 and 3). : : The diamond rivieres are also probably gifts : or bequests from Queen Mary. : : I do not know the origin of the large : diamond cluster earrings. The current : Duchess of Gloucester has worn them : regularly. Princess Alice, Duchess of : Gloucester, has worn them too. : : : : : : :
