Eh? If the sash is not pinned at the waist then it will billow on bending forward, or hang straight from breast to hip when upright. Edit: Actually, the whole things depends, I think, on where the "bow" (?) and hip badge are worn - whether to the side or quite forward, as Letizia seems to favour. Her way of wearing the sash requires the waist pinning, I think. The weight of the hip badge plays a part in how the sash falls.--Previous Message-- : Well, it depends if we are talking about Queen : Letizia's or Michelle Bachelet's curves... : : : : More seriously, what I mean is that a brooch : pinned on the shoulder (and possibly another : brooch pinned in the back) is enough to keep : the sash in place and prevent it from : slipping off the shoulder. Then the weight : of the medal suspended at the bottom end of : the sash is enough to keep the sash properly : positioned along the body curves. : : If a lady fastens her sash at the front in : two points (one near the shoulder, one near : the belly), then the sash might wave or : billow inesthetically when the lady's body : moves (bowing, seating, turning...), because : the sash can not adapt to the change in the : body's curves. : : : --Previous Message-- : : : --Previous Message-- : : Arthur - I am thinking that the body shape : of a lady, from the shoulder, goes out then : in then out again? : : : Nellie, I love your description of a lady's : curves : : :
