: Queen Elizabeth II visited Wolverhampton
: today. She wore a brooch representing a
: "Tudor" rose (i.e. an heraldic
: rose mixing red and white petals) in rubies
: and diamonds, in a diamond vase (it looks as
: if there is also a small cabochon amethyst
: at the bottom of the vase).
    :
: The origin of the brooch is not clearly
: identified. The Queen has worn this brooch
: at least three times since 2012.
    :
: I did hear a report given during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, when the Queen wore the Three Scotch Thistle brooch, that this brooch was one of a set of four brooches given to the Queen by the Sultan of Oman.(Around Diamond Jubilee time) It seems to fit that these would be; Thistle brooch (Scotland) Three Irish Shammrocks (Northern Ireland)Daffodil brooch
(Wales) & the Tudor Rose brooch (England). They all appeared around the same time & follow a similar theme, I thought.
