I seem to recall reading that King Edward VII (as PoW) presented such Prince of Wales feather brooches to close friends (not necessarily mistresses). And hash´t the present Prince of Wales also presented brooches to ladies in his household? --Previous Message-- : : HRH wears a Prince of Wales feather brooch : which contains a largish black pearl. : Perhaps this is the item referred too. : : Do you mean this brooch? : : : Caption: March 1, 2006: The Queen : accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, the : Prince of Wales & the Duchess of : Cornwall, opens the new Welsh National : Assembly building in Cardiff Bay (Photo by : Mark Cuthbert/UK Press via Getty Images). : : : Caption: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall : arrives at a Gala Performance of 'We Are : Most Amused' at the Wimbledon Theatre on : November 12, 2008 in London, England : (November 12, 2008 - Source: Chris : Jackson/Getty Images Europe). : : This brooch has a grey (not really black) : pearl, and has a Prince of Wales feather : emblem in diamonds.
