This necklace seems to be a remake of something else. From the end of the 19th century dates a brass church candlestick with many branches, on ech branch were screwed these leaves, ears of wheat, bunches of grapes and flowers. They excisted in lots of shapes, hanging- as well as standing and you still find them at fleamarkets. I owned one too. The leaves match exactly, 100%, the leaves on this chain..
--Previous Message-- : Yesterday (20th November 2014), Queen Maxima : attended the symposium ‘Tradition to : Ambition’ of Dutch Agricultural Youth (NAJK) : in Utrecht. : : She chose to wear a large necklace made of : five overlapping golden (grape?) leaves. : : More info and pictures on Royalista.com : (whose administrators have unfortunately : suppressed the possibility to download their : pictures ): : : http://royalista.com/59796/queen-maxima-with-golden-leaves-around-her-neck/ : and on Cotilleando.com: : : http://www.cotilleando.com/foro/threads/reina-maxima-asiste-al-simposio-najk-en-utrecht.95589/ : : : (Credit: Royal Press Europe, via : Cotilleando.com) : : I think that, as a necklace, these golden : leaves are a bit over the top - very : "maximesque", I would say. But I : guess that, skillfully mounted on a frame, : they could make a very nice golden tiara, : which could match with other golden jewels : of Maxima's collection. : : :
