In response to Arthur's question on wereabouts of the big diamonds bow-corsage brooch, the answer is in the photo below. It is part of a set of five brooches of different sizes, as you can see in the photo on the left. And in the photo below we can see HM Queen Margherita of Italy wearing the Crown tiara of pearls and diamonds, the long diamonds sautoir shown in the left photo above, and her private emeralds and peals jewels. You --Previous Message-- : Grazie mille , Carlo! A really great find! I : had also noticed in Maria-Gabriella of : Savoia and Stefano Papi's book that this : tiara had been made from an older jewel : belonging to King Umberto II, but I had not : solved the mystery. : : It is a pity that we have not seen this : beautiful ivy-leaf tiara for so long! : : Does anyone know the origin and the : whereabouts of the diamond bow brooch worn : by Queen Elena on her right shoulder, or on : the picture below? It is neither the huge : bow brooch of the Italian Crown Jewels (left : behind by King Umberto II in 1946 and : presumably still in the vaults of the Bank : of Italy), nor Queen Marie-Josée's bow : brooch (sold at auction at Christie's in : 2007 by Princess Maria-Gabriella). : : : : :
