I do agree Beth, it is sad the Queen has not worn the Andamooka Opal again & the earrings look quite wearable. It is quite a spectacular beautiful opal. My daughter found a far far smaller one at White Cliffs when she was a little girl looking through a pile of dirt, she wears it as a pendant & loves it, also born October. --Previous Message-- : Thank you Arthur for the photos of this : necklace. : : Unfortunately, black and white photos make : the central opal look more dominant than I : think it would in reality - or with modern : digital photography. : : HM does not seem to favour opals, but I : suspect that Queen Victoria would have been : delighted with the gifts given to QEII, as : she wore opals, and she gave gave opal : suites, in the her name and her husband's : after his death to their daughters and : daughters-in-law.
