While on the subject of the Hanovarian pearls, I read somewhere & wrote this down some years ago but forgot to say where I read it, Queen Victoria received a Diamond Cluster brooch for her Diamond Jubilee she described it in her diary "a beautiful diamond brooch of very great brilliancy, the very large and white diamond central stone being a veritable little mountain of light" encircled by a row of other smaller diamonds and mounted to show no setting. The brooch was designed & manufactured by Messr. Carrington & Co. The inscription on the velvet case revealed the donors; "The Queen`s Diamond Jubilee, 1837 - 1897. From her loving child and children Alexandra, George & May, Louise & Fife, Victoria, Maud & Charles. (ie the Princess of Wales & her children) I read that this brooch is the clasp now on the Hanovarian pearls. Could this be correct?
