Very pretty, even though Queen Victoria's hair style and the size of the crown are not very accurate. Even Victoria was not small enough to make the crown look that large. I recently read an 1839 travel diary in which the young queen appeared several times. The picture would make a nice illustration.
I saw a lot of empty crowns at the Tower of London during their Golden Jubilee exhibit, but the only Mary of Modena crown that stayed in my memory is the one with paste stones. I remember the 20th century consort crowns, of course, but the plethora of frames simply surprised me, there were so many. I can't recall whether there was a Queen Charlotte or Queen Adelaide frame.
One of the things I read about Adelaide's coronation said "it was decided" that the old crown was too worn to use again. It did not sound as though she was too involved, even though the descriptions say her family's stones were used. Charlotte surely was not in any control of her coronation, given the circumstances.
