Colombian State visit to Spain: "usual" glitter for Queen Letizia Archived Message

[Edit: sorry, I posted the following message without noticing that Gert-Jan had posted earlier the same information, and similar pictures, in another thread]

The President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, is currently paying a State visit to Spain. This evening, King Felipe VI hosted a State dinner at the Palacio de Oriente (Madrid's Royal Palace).

Queen Letizia looked very elegant in her grey dress. Jewellerywise, nothing to blame... and nothing very original either! The Queen wore the Mellerio Floral Tiara (which has clearly become her favorite tiara for a few years now), a pair of diamond earrings (a wedding gift, if I well remember?) and her Fleur-de-Lys Brooch. As usual, she did not wear any necklace - which is a pity, as Queen Sofia owns several diamond necklaces, which could match perfectly this tiara. Or a sapphire and diamond necklace (Queen Sofia owns at least one), which would have matched brilliantly with the blue sash of the Colombian Order of Boyacá.

    Let's enjoy the glitter, anyway!

The Colombian First Lady, Maria Clemencia Rodriguez de Santos, also wore interesting diamond earrings:
