Thank you Tamara for all the work you have done trying to clarify the identity of the jewels worn by Crown Princess Margaret and Countess Keristen.
I still have a few reservations. The report in the Times of 10 June 1905 describes the jewel given by Sir Ernest Cassel as
It is the wording "... a diamond and red enamel ribbon bow..." which has caught my attention. The phraseology suggests to me that there is red enamel on the bow section as well as surrounding the pear shaped diamond drops.
I cannot see different colours in the bow section of the brooch as photographed on the Crown Princess; yet, there are distinct, symmetrical, darker sections on the bow section of the pendant worn by the Countess.
As Tamara has pointed out there are many similarities in the jewel worn by the Crown Princess and Countess Kerstin. Yet, I still wonder if we may be looking at two separate jewels. The style was no doubt common during this period, and so it is possible that two separate but very similarly designed jewels were in the Princess' collection. If we had access to colour photographs, then the issue might be resolved more easily.
