Very recently I found this picture on Pinterest. It was totally new to me and a big surprise, I don't recall seing it posted here. Queen Amélia's wedding gift emerald parure on display at an exhibition in 1961, acording to the caption. It was the first pic I've seen of it other than the old photos of Queen Amélia in the 1890's and early XXth century. Such wonderful jewels.
Aparently the tiara was not altered, however I notested some changes in the necklace: The central square emerald was removed, most likely sold at some point. The central oval pendant went upwards, and the two small central side pendants were removed to make earrings.
Queen Amélia did not have her ears pierced and she never wore earrings, nor they were part of the original parure. The original wedding gift had also small emerald brooches that are not on this picture. I have no idea who owned the parure at that time nor when were the changes made on the necklace. I notest a tag at the end of the necklace, could it be a price or some sort of reference tag? Perhaps an auction in 1961? I believe it was written here some time ago that aparently the parure was "not very far from where it should be", wich was interpreted as perhaps some family of the nobility, close to the royal house, might own it. Time will tell.
