    Dear Isabelle,

    With a link with the blog the queen jewels vault.

    To my account : the blog has given information about 117 brooches + (14 twins brooches like the Flame lily (not including the 4 ruby brooches or the crown amethyst brooches)) = 131 brooches described on the blog ;

    To me she has also worn (and only worn on this list) the following brooches which has not been described on the forum yet :
    - 12 diamond brooches ;
    - 2 ruby ;
    - 3 sapphires ;
    - 7 pearls ;
    - 20 semi-precious stones ;

    Therefore, to me she has worn on least 175 brooches during her life and this list does not include the brooches in the vault or the ones worn by the duchess of Cornwall friom Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother ! This does not include also the badges !

    : Like Nellie, I also believe HM's collection
    : must run in the high hundreds. There must
    : also be a large number of brooches that have
    : languished in the vaults for ages that
    : haven't seen the light of day. A perfect
    : example is the brooch containing the gifted
    : diamonds from South Africa that has popped
    : up. I would be ecstatic if one day there
    : were a book written containing pictures and
    : histories of HM's collection!

    : My gut feeling says between 400 and 500
    : particularly after inheriting her mother's
    : brooches.
    : Obviously I have nothing to produce to
    : support that.
