Like you, i have been surprised to read so many comments on other boards about that sapphire set. Mainly, that "it came from princess Vigo".
It is strange to see how people jump from one single fact to a conclusion, without checking any steps between the two.
Beeing the original source of information for the provenance of that set, when i mentioned here that queen Anne herself had explained that this set came from a danish aunt, i feel i have to clarify one thing.
I never said who the danish aunt was, because that information was not mine to give. Especially when queen Anne was alive. The possibility, that it may have been princess Viggo was debated on that board many times, with all the necessary precautions. Some people believe it could be from princess Viggo. Some others don't.
What i can say today is that : THEY ARE NOT from princess Viggo. Queen Anne had quite a few danish aunts.
