I apologise for the delay but have been out of action for personal reason. Nothing bad – all good
Continuing and finalizing my top 10 songs during Lockdown
So at number 5 is the “Love Life & Feeling ” Album" I have chosen the track is “Midnight Blue” Written-By – Carole Bayer Sager, Melissa Manchester. I think the words so relevant during the pandemic “And I think we can make it -One more time-If we try-One more time for all of the old, old times.
At number 4 is the “The Show Must Go On” Album" But here the track I have chosen is “The title track “The Show Must Go On” Written-By Queen. I loved the arrangement on this track This was produced by the legendary Mike Smith, Between 1963 and 1970 Mike Smith produced six No 1 records in the UK.
At number 3 is the “Get the Party Started” Album" the track I have chosen is “The Living Tree” I loved her adaption of this track by “Never the Bride” which incidentally was written by, produced by & they were also the backing vocals on this track - Catherine Feeney & Nikki Lamborn
At number 2 is the “The Performance” Album" the track I have chosen is “After the rain” I absolutely loved her soft tones on this track. It shows her vulnerable side. It is so melodic and again the lyrics were so relevant. “After the rains have gone- Something inside me cries-What's behind that door?
At number 1 is the “The Performance” Album" the track I have chosen is “The Performance” The live version from the Electrics Proms gets me every time. Billboard magazine asked Dame Shirley if she had a favourite track on The Performance. She replied: "I love all of them. But the Pet Shop Boys' song got right into my head and made me sob, and not many songs do that. You can get too carried away with a song, especially onstage, but you can't be crying during every one. When I heard that, after doing all the other songs, it was just too much for me. I don't need to write a book. The record is my autobiography."
Well that's all for now.
Yours thoughts maybe?
Stay safe & be kind
Jay
PS I didn't post "dont get your hopes up" Seems we have another Jay - so I will refer to myself as Jay 1
