People are encouraged to report issues with aggressive/lose dogs as timely as possible while being as descriptive as possible while providing that detail to Trooper Brooks. See him in person or call 524 3222 to report an issue with aggressive dogs or if you have any questions.
One does have a right to protect themselves and animals from an aggressive animal, but please do this with extreme caution and report to Trooper Brooks if you've taken any action against a dog.
One item thats been discussed as a non lethal method of dealing with an agressive dog that becomes a danger is using some form of pepper spray and a McGrath message board post shares details on how to make a safe homemade version of pepper spray.
KSKO does NOT endorse or encourage any particular action, device or behavior.. we simply are providing this information in the interest of public notification and safety since radio is often the best method of widely sharing information in the Alaskan bush
