Yes, Dieter. It's a sad irony that Karajan was cleared immediately after the war, while Furtwängler had to wait a few years before his "DeNazification" went through. Turns out he had been quietly helping Jewish musicians escape from Germany, whereas Karajan had joined the party shortly after Hitler came to power and never looked back.
