At his best, I think Lenny's Tchaikovsky is unbeatable, Dieter - that Israel PO Francesca is my top pick. Alas, the Fifth Symphony from 1960 would probably be my last pick of very many, joint with his later effort for DG !! He really is the good, the bad and the ugly with this composer, perhaps with every composer, sometimes in the same piece (I'm thinking of his VPO Bruckner IX here !) Best, lee
