First, you are, of course, quite right about my having deliberately left out the Bocelli recording - largely as a result of my having read your review! I really cannot account him to be a serious operatic tenor, whatever his merits.
I am happy to change metaphors regarding the Björling recording, especially as I felt faintly guilty at having somehow rather disparaged it more than it deserves. Otherwise, it doesn't sound as though we disagree too violently about much, even allowing for the inevitable disparities in personal taste.
I am indeed currently working on the Cavalleria survey, then I shall have run out of operas - only I said that after what I thought was my last conspectus, then found myself unable to resist starting again.
Comments such as yours are always very welcome - though naturally not everyone's will necessarily be as harmonious...
