Apologies for my own dreadful accuracy - the 1882 premiere of "The Snow Maiden" was, of course, 139 years ago.
Rimsky-Korsakov started writing it in 1880, 141 years ago. Having decided to change my post and use the date of the first performance, I was remiss in not amending that figure.
