There is an error in citing that the premiere was 163 years earlier. The Scottish Opera production comes 139 years after the premiere as you say. Hans Christian Andersen's 'Snow Queen' story predates Ostrovsky's play, hence no mention of the play, particularly because the principals' names Kai and Gerda were originally decided by Andersen and the story is his.
I am aware of 'The Flight of the Bumble Bee' being incidental music first used in "Tsar Saltan", but the Gypsy Encampment Scene refers to the Scottish Opera setting for Act II of "Snow Queen"..
