Re: Ralph Moore Rossini etc
"Cambiale" was one of a half-dozen operas recorded by Mercury in collbaoration with Ricordi in the late 1950s. They resemble other Mercury LPs in having detailed, wide-range sound with a very realistic sense of perspective from a smallish theatre (few microphones!). I tried several reissues before finding some in original LP issues, and the latter were vastly preferable. It seems rights issues prevented the inheritors of the Mercury caralogue from reissuing these operas properly remastered on CDs.
