I'm grateful for your latest reviews of Rossini operas. I have a particular favourite: La Cambiale di Matrimonio; beautifully composed, and there's a lovely recording with Scotto before her voice went (and that was early!). And, for me, it is the only opera I know that Canada is mentioned!
I'm also thanking you for the Leinsdorf Walkure. It is really stupendous. I didn't know, or had forgotten, that it existed. It is now my favourite Walkure. Leinsdorf, while I'm here, is underrated; this is a great recording, but Verdi's Ballo will never be beat, nor will, I think, Korngold's Die Tote Stat.
