It boggles the mind that a presumably experienced reviewer could even contemplate writing these lines. This choir, formed by Ferdinand Grossmann of Vienna Boys Choir fame, made it into one of the most famous in its day, toured the globe and made a huge number of records for various labels, Vox and Westminster included. Is it too much to expect that, instead of writing the first thing that comes into one's head, a tiny amount of research is undertaken by the reviewer (easier then ever before thanks to the internet), to save the reader from having to endure sentences such as the above-quoted? It brings the general high standard of MusicWeb down to an unacceptably low level. You do not have to suspect: you can actually research and share the knowledge that you glean with your readers - imagine that for a novelty!
