Not sure I grasp your objection - using your example, if the older Takacs discs
were only available as downloads then you would have a point. And if Hyperion
were to offer both a CD (CD-R) and a cheaper download, well - you wouldn't.
I think you ought to contact Hyperion re the gist of your penultimate paragraph.
