Dear Mr. Howell, Thank you for your wonderful survey. You might like to try and locate another Scherchen recording which I heard once many years ago. It came from Philadelphia in the 1960s, if my memory serves me correctly, a live broadcast. It would be interesting to see if his views had changed in the intervening ten years or so.
