We lost our beloved Sheriff Taylor this morning. He joins Aunt Bee, Barney, Ernest T, Helen and the all the rest.

What a sad day.

So long to a loving man who gave us a place to visit every night we watched Mayberry. Where people were friendly and the Sheriff was your friend and you actually knew who he was.

Andy Griffith was a native of my home state of North Carolina and considered an icon in our state. I will always enjoy his work,from his famous monologue "What It Was, Was Football" to of course his starring roles on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock" and his Gospel albums. R.I.P.

On FB there have been several quotes and cartoons made about the passing of Andy, all in good taste of course b/c he was a gentleman & wonderful tv icon. My favorite quote was "What the world needs is more Mayberry & less Jersey Shore!" Amen!! With one more of our beloved classic tv actors passing on, I feel that sweet, quiet time in history passing on with them. I fear we'll never recapture a simpler life like that again.
