I got a message on my phone this morning that "The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Thursday morning to a crest of 37.5 feet Monday, April 14. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday, April 23. Action stage is 28.0 fee. Flood stage is 34.0 feet."

The grain terminal and businesses about 5-6 miles south of me are already under water.
It is just a wait and see thing now.
I just saw a documentary on PBS on Sunday where in the flood of 1927 it was so bad everywhere that each side of the river had guards/watchmen every few feet on top of the levees because they were each afraid that the other side was going to send someone to dynamite the levee so that the water would all flow onto the other side and save their side. No levees were damaged but over 1000 people still lost their lives.
