My husband had his quarterly check-up with his internal meds doctor, who also handles his diabetes since his endo left. They put him on Ozempic last time to try to get control over his sugar. After 30 years of good control, it had become completely out of control. His last A1C was 9.8, today it was 7.3. A lot of happy people around.

My husband has also lost 11 pounds. With insurance and everything, he has only been taking the Ozempic for 70 days. He only started losing after a month or so. We are happy with the results so far. With his sugar out of control, no matter how hard he worked, he was constantly gaining weight.

Our son and his son had lunch with us to celebrate our 50th anniversary, since they will be gone over the weekend. Unfortunately, our DIL couldn't get off work to go.

Two sunny days in a row, although there were heavy storms between 1-2 AM last night and we are forecast more storms every day from tonight till Tuesday. The whole heartland is storm-exhausted. It has been every weekend since mid-March here. Grateful the storms haven't been worse here too.

If we make it until Saturday, we will be celebrating 50 years of marriage. It has not always been rosy and was touch-and-go at times, like year before last when he took off to the lake without me on our anniversary, but we made it this far. By the way, I found out later that he was mad at my mother over something she had done and just wanted to get away from her for a while.
