Mike and the younger kids came over to help in the garden. I am so grateful. Murray wants to be able to do it.. but, can't because of his copd. Mike is helping us both, really. They both know how happy it makes me. Mike and Murray stepped all over my jack in the pulpit area. EEK Grateful I have 2 Jack areas!!!! I got rid of my daylillies and and other deer magnets. LOVE you ladies so much. Grateful to have you all with me in life.

So nice that Mike and the kids came to help with the garden. I don't know what I would do without my grandkids coming and doing around the house and yard. I love Jack-in-the-pulpits. When I was a child we had a small wooded area behind the house. I would find them there and dig them up and bring them to the house and plant them. I had a nice little garden of them. I like daylilies and have a lot of them myself, but I totally understand not having them if you have deer in your area.

My husband had his quarterly check-up with his internal meds doctor, who also handles his diabetes since his endo left. They put him on Ozempic last time to try to get control over his sugar. After 30 years of good control, it had become completely out of control. His last A1C was 9.8, today it was 7.3. A lot of happy people around. My husband has also lost 11 pounds. With insurance and everything, he has only been taking the Ozempic for 70 days. He only started losing after a month or so. We are happy with the results so far. With his sugar out of control, no matter how hard he worked, he was constantly gaining weight. Our son and his son had lunch with us to celebrate our 50th anniversary, since they will be gone over the weekend. Unfortunately, our DIL couldn't get off work to go. Two sunny days in a row, although there were heavy storms between 1-2 AM last night and we are forecast more storms every day from tonight till Tuesday. The whole heartland is storm-exhausted. It has been every weekend since mid-March here. Grateful the storms haven't been worse here too. If we make it until Saturday, we will be celebrating 50 years of marriage. It has not always been rosy and was touch-and-go at times, like year before last when he took off to the lake without me on our anniversary, but we made it this far. By the way, I found out later that he was mad at my mother over something she had done and just wanted to get away from her for a while.

Our son and his son took us out, our oldest grandson wants to take us out tomorrow night. I am sure that our daughter and her crew will do something. We wanted to plan a special trip but couldn't think of anywhere we really wanted to go other than the Gulf coast.

I think doing things with our loved ones is our favorite anyway. We usually have a big BBQ on Memorial Day with family and friends but most people made other plans this year before they even thought about it because we had planned to be out of town.

Whatever the date you have done a fantastic job of getting close to your goal in the time you have had and well on the way to all the great things you are going to do after surgery.
