That last sentence used to be me. "Every day is a new beginning. True, I sometimes use it as an excuse to keep eating that day."
I read the Trim, Healthy Mama book when it first came out. They advocated eating small amounts, about a handful, every three hours. Their big war cry was that overeating or eating something not planned was not a mistake; it was just off plan, and they could be back on plan in three hours. When you think about it, extra calories don't have a chance to build up if you are back on track in three hours. I tried to follow that plan for a while and did lose well. It just had a lot of special ingredients that had to be ordered back then, although they have changed a bit.
We can be back on plan in three hours. Doesn't that change the way you think about splurges?
