I saw Dr Smith and got not good news. He thinks it is a torn but even with a a tear, the arthritis has gotten worse in the shoulder joint in the last 10 months and I’ve already had 2 surgeries to clean it out in the last 4 years SO the only option I have surgically is a shoulder replacement. No fun and not what I wanted to hear. I’ve been afraid of this for a while. He said a sling post operation for 2 weeks then no pool or lifting weight for 6-8 more. Then lots of physical therapy.

He did an injection ( nerve block) to help with the pain if it works to try and last a few months and let me try and get some weight off. I want to feel better about my blood pressure being well controlled going into surgery.

We had a family member on Johns side have a stroke last week in Gulf shores which really scares me. She has surgery today at 9 am and is again at stroke risk so we are praying for her then. She’s younger than I am and using a wheelchair right now.
