They even tried Ambien with me, and though I used to be very sensitive to pain drugs or things for sleep, it only seemed to paralyse me after an hour or so, and I just lay there all night and still couldn't sleep. Three days/nights this went on. I stopped taking it and did manage to fall asleep around 7 AM for a few days until things got a bit easier again. Ditto, there doesn't have to be anything happening. Sometimes, I don't even have racing thoughts, just get on the verge of sleep and not tip over.

I pulled the wound open shortly after getting stitches out, and they found that I had healed from the outside but not the inside. They packed the wound and left it to heal without stitches. It took six months to the day to get a scab on it.

After they repaired my intestines and took the bag off they did a purse string closure. They left a hole about the size of a quarter open so that it would heal from the inside out. It was packed for ages, it seemed like, I could see inside the hole for months after the packing was taken out. It was almost a year before it had skin over it completely. I heal slowly so it took a minute.
