forecasters are wrong and you don't get all that. I am glad that you are prepared. If you have tea candles, you can put about 4 of them in a muffin tin on a surface that is safe to get hot, put a cookie cooling rack over them, and heat water and soups over that. A small saucepan with a bigger candle would probably work the same, but take longer. I tended to keep sterno for that, then forget it, and tried this method first when we would have power outages. The generator works so much better. I love the blue heron. I have an affinity for them. We have had nesting blue herons at our house for over 17 years. When I was up at the old lake house last week blue herons were nesting in the trees in our yard. The same thing happened at the other house when we got there.
