Our side of town has underground electrical lines. For several years, power would randomly go out, over and over. The power company would come out and look for the area where it was tripping a switch, think they found it and it would be better for a while, then it would start happening again, over and over. Most of the people, including us, got generators so that we no longer had to go to work with wet hair and no coffee or find something to eat when the power went out in the midst of cooking a meal, being awakened to CPAP or oxygen not working, being cold or sweltering in 110° days. They finally found the right place to fix a couple of years ago, but we still have the generators to give us a little less anxiety in storms such as these. Had the power not been going off over and over and over all the time, it would not have been worth the price of the generators.
This snowy weather is the perfect time to go through the medicine closet and get rid of all expired meds and diabetic test strips. I always put that job off for a bad weather day for some reason.
Planning to use the brightness of snow to get some sewing done. I want to make some seasonal table runners and get a couple of quilts that I have cut out, put together, and ready to quilt. I could also use one of those homesteader-type aprons.
Received Lidocaine Patches. All the packing and lifting was a little too much on my back and hip, but they made it more comfortable without getting caught on my clothes all the time. Things are beginning to feel better now.
