The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

Sunday Grats

I kinda feel guilty feeling grateful that we didn't get all the ice that they were predicting; we almost always get just the ice. We got about 5 inches of tiny dry flakes, according to the local weather. If the flakes hadn't been so tiny, it would have been feet. It stopped in the early morning yesterday until almost midnight, started with tiny wet flakes and sleet about midnight until early morning, then quit. We got about 2" or so of crunchy on top of the snow. They say we might get freezing rain this afternoon, but the radar map shows everything east of us. Hope we are done. Downtown Memphis and across the Mississippi state line for several counties south, they got only freezing rain for two days. They are saying that some of them will be without power restored. It looks like a tornado went through. Nashville was the same way. I'd say that we were the lucky ones in this storm.
Our side of town has underground electrical lines. For several years, power would randomly go out, over and over. The power company would come out and look for the area where it was tripping a switch, think they found it and it would be better for a while, then it would start happening again, over and over. Most of the people, including us, got generators so that we no longer had to go to work with wet hair and no coffee or find something to eat when the power went out in the midst of cooking a meal, being awakened to CPAP or oxygen not working, being cold or sweltering in 110° days. They finally found the right place to fix a couple of years ago, but we still have the generators to give us a little less anxiety in storms such as these. Had the power not been going off over and over and over all the time, it would not have been worth the price of the generators.
This snowy weather is the perfect time to go through the medicine closet and get rid of all expired meds and diabetic test strips. I always put that job off for a bad weather day for some reason.
Planning to use the brightness of snow to get some sewing done. I want to make some seasonal table runners and get a couple of quilts that I have cut out, put together, and ready to quilt. I could also use one of those homesteader-type aprons.
Received Lidocaine Patches. All the packing and lifting was a little too much on my back and hip, but they made it more comfortable without getting caught on my clothes all the time. Things are beginning to feel better now.
Love my patches

Joan's generous spirit!
Only a couple of inches of snow fell overnight. Freezing rain ongoing all day. At least the freezing rain isn't being added to snow-laden tree branches.
Got a towel down on the ramp so Lew could get outside. It was all messed up on his way back in and he was having a terrible time getting up it. I have to get out there and put some pet safe ice melt down. Would kill myself going down the ramp so will have to go out the front door and walk around the back.
Made chili, shredded chicken and corn bread yesterday so plenty of food. So great to be able to do all of that along with the clean-up.
Terribly confusing and exhausting dreams last night. Felt exhausted when I woke up but, dreams are only dreams!
Be careful out in that

iciness! We don't want you breaking bones. Put down kitty litter for traction.

1. Sunday - I took tuna packed in water and bar soap to the pantry today. Special prayers offered for all of you.
2. Because of the winter storm, I am especially grateful for anyone who is able to sneak in and post.
3. I am grateful for any political leader who is able to call out the US leadership for what's happening here and abroad.
4. We watched "Roofman" yesterday. We enjoyed it.
5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me!
Maintenance is a forever endeavor!
I love

your heart for those less fortunate. I hope that you are not in the range of the tornadoes in Florida. I did not hear where, just walked in in time to hear tornado watches and warnings in Florida, with several warnings active. They were so zoomed in that I couldn't orient where they were.
