back in the day--I didn't have it so bad. I lived in the foothills of the Smokies, and even though it was not on top, it usually got down to the 60s at night with a nice breeze. We just opened the windows. Mama would also take us outside before bed and turn the sprinkler on. Then she would soap us up and hand us a washcloth. We would wash ourselves, then she would hose us down real well with cold, cold mountain water. We would dry off, run in and put our PJs on and jump into ed all chilled. It was fun and made us go to sleep quickly.
