Sunday Grats Posted by Delta on 3/22/2026, 7:33 pm, in reply to "Sunday grats..." It has been the most glorious weekend weather-wise. Supposed to go from 90 now after 5 PM to 66 tomorrow, so we will probably have storms tonight, but we had the weekend. We spent the weekend at the lake. Both our son and daughter and their spouses went too. Various grandkids were in and out depending on their schedule. Even the oldest, who was transferred 5 hours away, was off this weekend, and we got to see the great-grandson. He has grown so much since Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it so much. I am to the point that making memories with family is my favorite thing. The youngest grandson has had a great time in Scotland and England this past week. We got the AC back on this morning. It got up to almost 80° in the house yesterday, and it was uncomfortable last night. A neighbor stopped by today and said he used to work in air conditioning. He looked at it, and it was just a plug that had worked loose outside. He said that when they were working on it last week, they had just stuck it in and not made it lock, so it had jarred loose. It cooled down quickly after that. Heard from my cousin who has cancer on Friday. She has just undergone a battery of tests and received the results. Her cancer is all testing dead, and most of her tumors have shrunk so that they are not as bothersome. She said that her appetite is coming back some and she feels more energy. It has been a rough two years, but the doctors bought her time, and she got to meet her first great-grandchild recently.

AC when it's hot is a gratitude. I don't know how we did it way back when. Even with a few fans. Glad your cousin is doing so well.

About how we did it Posted by Delta on 3/22/2026, 10:38 pm, in reply to "Delta" back in the day--I didn't have it so bad. I lived in the foothills of the Smokies, and even though it was not on top, it usually got down to the 60s at night with a nice breeze. We just opened the windows. Mama would also take us outside before bed and turn the sprinkler on. Then she would soap us up and hand us a washcloth. We would wash ourselves, then she would hose us down real well with cold, cold mountain water. We would dry off, run in and put our PJs on and jump into ed all chilled. It was fun and made us go to sleep quickly.

She was skittish, shy and didn't want to be touched. She doesn't hide when people come over. If she scoots away at first, she'll come back to see who's here and what's going on. She let's people pet her. I can pick her up for a cuddle. She's not a lap kitty... but, a snuggler. She likes to sleep on top of me. I am so proud of her. I love her so much. PS... she loves to be brushed. I have a kitty brush upstairs and main floor. I am trying to learn to do many things on my own. It's been a very difficult journey. It's been a hard struggle. I am making some progress. My sister calls me nearly every night. It's nice. You wonderful ladies. I love you all very much.

I'm sure there are times when you feel overwhelmed by it all, and for those times, I pray you can feel Jesus walking with you.
