My favorite cousin called me today. She said that she had some medical news she wanted to share with me, and my heart sank. She had breast cancer in 2013. They did surgery and said that they got it all. Five years later, she was deemed cancer-free.

Two years ago, she started having trouble breathing and went to the doctor. He sent her for an MRI, and they sent her for a PET scan. Her daughter said her whole body looked like a dalmation. She had spots of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer everywhere; lungs, back of heart, bones, muscles, liver, everywhere. They didn't give her much hope, but agreed to do treatments. She has been getting treatments of one kind or another since. Last week, she had to go for a PET scan and blood tests. Her doctor told her today that not one spot lit up on the scan, not even a tiny one. Her blood contained no trace of cancer cells. All her cancer suddenly died in the last three months. She still has scar tissue in her lungs and behind her heart, but she is cancer-free again. Even the doctor said that a miracle had been at work because the type of cancer she had didn't work like that. Praise God!
