Sunday Gratitude Posted by Delta on 5/18/2025, 5:15 pm, in reply to "Sunday Gratitude... Care to share?" Our grandson had some business to take care of around Mobile on Friday. He invited us to ride down there with him. Yesterday we went to Dophan Island and they swam in the bay for a bit, then we went across the island to the Gulf side and watched the waves crash for a while. They couldn't swim on that side because it was red-flagged, but it was so relaxing. I am so grateful that I got to go one more time. Since I can no longer share the driving and my husband tires out sooner, I am always afraid I won't get back again. I love the Gulf area so much. I always wanted to live in Alabama near the bay or gulf, but it never happened. Our trip was unbelievably chill except for one incident of someone traveling at over 100 mph weaving between cars when the traffic was a little thicker. We almost got sideswiped, then he left the road shortly, but was able to recover and continue his speed and weaving. We did have to be detoured around a wreck between a car, truck, and motorcycle, at a shopping center entrance but it seemed everyone was fine. Even though the cycle had been laid down, the drivers were all standing around talking to the cops, and there wasn't an ambulance the whole time we sat in traffic, a few cars back. There was very little traffic on the road except near the bigger towns. I haven't experienced that in years. The two youngest grandsons want to come to our house tonight before a whirlwind month starts for both of them. We are blessed that our grandkids want to spend time with us. Even with a crazy schedule, I stayed on track during the trip. I have had the craziest dreams for several nights. I can't always remember them but wake up with a weird feeling and know they were crazy. Last night I was up and down a lot because I took a diuretic when I got home. Each time I woke from a very nice dream and remembered them all. I love it when I have nice dreams and wake feeling good.

If you are talking about Posted by Delta on 5/19/2025, 4:10 am, in reply to "Sounds like" Dauphin Island, I love that place. Maybe not as much now since a company came in and more than doubled the housing in the last few years. At one time we were looking for a house there because we loved it so much. It didn't have so many houses then. It is still very peaceful. The ferry ride to Fort Morgan is fun too, whether you take your car or just ride over and back, because there is usually some kind of marine life to see on the trip. Once we saw hundreds of huge jellyfish and we have had dolphins and so much more. I really like hiking in the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, especially during the spring migration. Be sure to check out the whole island. It is fast and easy to cover it.

I got the front side of our new front door painted yesterday and Roger and Jessica came over today to flip the door over on the sawhorses so I can paint the other side today! So grateful for kids that live close who will come over and help us! 2. I got my mowing done in the front and back yard before the kids came over. Grateful for a riding lawnmower. I usually weed eat first, but it’s supposed to rain today so I wanted to knock out the major part of it. 3. It’s been a productive weekend. I was able to knock out several things I needed to do. I still have more to finish today but I will get things done! So grateful to be able to do things. 4. My ankle feels a little better. I think I have tendinitis in it and it has been hurting since Ken went into the hospital in January. All the going to the hospital 2-3 times a day for 24 days aggravated my ankle and it’s been slow healing. Grateful it’s getting slowly better. 5. This day and all it has to offer. God is good.

Kids who live close by and will come and help are a Godsend. Don't you love it when you feel that you have a lot checked off your to-do list and it becomes a ta-da list?

I am ruminating about the surgery. I do what I know to do to stop but it's winning. The last time I looked at the clock it was 4:00. Woke for.thelast time at 9. One thing I did while roaming the house in the middle of the night was to look at the notes from the Orthopaedic Surgeon I saw before seeing the Neurosurgeon. His full report was in my portal and included everything Aetna says it needs. I sent it through the portal but I think I sent it multiple times. They are going to think I'm nuts! Indian Pinks and Hydrangeas are beginning to bloom. Incredible how different I feel when the scale says 259.9 vs 260.1. The latter was this morning!

Sometimes, I hate the scale, just hate it! I don't think the anyone will think you're nuts even if you did send the report multiple times through the portal. If anything, they'll think it was a computer glitch. It happens all the time. I worry about things in the middle of the night, too!

I am so hoping that the info you found and the emergency appeal will make your surgery happen for you. Insurance is a horror story now no matter which kind you are talking about. The fight is too hard to be paying what we pay for it.

Last Sunday, all the ladies at my Church were given a carnation as they left the service. Two days ago, my flower blossomed fully to a breathtaking pink beauty. 3. I was out of control food wise for about an hour after dinner last night. I hate when that happens, but I own it. Did you know a frozen Jelly Bismark doughnut is every bit as good as a nonfrozen one? The gratitude is I know I can get back on track after Treat Day today. I probably should be grateful my pants still fit for Church. 4. It is amazing to me how I worry about all of you when I know you are having a difficult time for whatever the reason, and then in turn, the joy I feel when you are celebrating. I wish I could meet all of you! 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!

I may not express it well online but my mind and heart are always going there and I am always telling my husband what is going on because he can tell I am worried or more happy. I wish I could learn to get back on track quickly the way you can. I am working on it but not got it down yet. I applaud you!

For me the freezing of food is more about out of sight out of mind. If I don’t see it, I don’t gravitate towards it as much. If that same thing is setting on the counter-it would be gone! Love your accountability and while we are being accountable I got up to let the dogs out and ate some bread last night!!! Ugh. So that’s the first thing tracked this morning. I wish we could meet too! Like you, I laugh and cry with my sisters on here! We are family.

Having been a therapist for over 40 years, has forced me to develop a shut-off worry valve about others' problems. Otherwise, I wouldn't have survived all those years. My family would accuse me of being unfeeling or never understanding their feelings ( yah, right, I couldn’t get how they were feeling). Water over the bridge. Wish I could apply it better when it comes to .y OWN problems! LOL
