Sunday Gratitudes Posted by Delta on 6/22/2025, 2:13 pm, in reply to "Sunday Gratitude... Care to share?" My grandsons got back safely from the beach last night. There were shark sightings on the beach that they went to, but that was the day that they had gone down the beach about an hour to another beach, so they switched to the bay side beach for their last day there. They had a good time being together. They were so close before they spread out everywhere. Paula went to ER. Praying for her, but it was scary to hear, and I am sure it was worse to live through. Grateful that Carin gave us a heads up. Getting to see that sweet Great-grandbaby of mine this morning. Our zany little dog, Poppy, who makes life so enjoyable for us.

I swear my husband is the best short order cook in the joint. He missed his calling in life. LOL! 3. The head of the Children's Religious Formation program at my Church took me out for coffee. She is so delightful and generous with her time! 4. After watching several ladies at the salon yesterday getting hair extensions, I inquired about hair extensions for myself. I can't give you one good reason why I might want or need hair extensions, but there you go. Does anyone here use hair extensions? 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!

They were the clip-in kind, not the sewn-in kind. I had very short hair at the time and was posing for a painting of a woman in approximately the Jane Eyre time with those curly bangs and up-do, so the painter got me extensions to manage that, then gave them to me. I rarely used them, but they were nice to manage growing out hair. They no longer match my hair color. lol Thank you for praying for me as I continue to pray for you and the others here.

Regarding the painting, a friend who is an author and semi-famous painter was writing a book and wanted to paint the front cover himself, so he asked me to pose because I resembled a person he was writing about. It wasn't full face as if I were that person, just a figure in the landscape he created from research, but he wanted everything to be authentic. It was a brisk winter day when we did the preliminary drawings and color study. That dress was stiffling, and I only had on the petticoat to make the dress look right, not all the other undergarments they wore. I don't know how those ladies did it in warmer months, and that was just a morning dress, not the volumous evening dresses. I did wear the extensions occasionally when I dressed up, especially if I wanted an updo. I liked that I could go long or short, but I don't think I would like the ones sewn in.
