My five… Posted by Cindy on 8/2/2025, 1:22 am, in reply to "Friday gratitudes…." I’ve needed to be posting these but just haven’t taken the time! Thank you Paula for calling us out on this! 1. A really special blessing came our way this week (actually two) from the same man! Ken’s friend that built our fence and painted the trim on our house (both for a very small fee) came over with his crew and took all the branches and limbs that I had piled up on a trailer to the landfill for us! The branches were from that crazy wind storm we had almost 2 months ago and I was slowly breaking it into smaller pieces and putting it in our weekly trash dumpster. We also had some old lumber and 4 poly carts worth of leaves that they took as well! And if that wasn’t enough, he told me that he has a lawn guy that will be coming over every week to mow, and edge our lawn! According to him I don’t need to be out in the heat mowing! Tor is such a great guy and thinks the world of Ken. We are so blessed to know him. 2. A busy, productive week at work. Love times like this! 3. Netflix. Love watching shows on there I am currently watching Scandal! I watched it when it was on tv and loved it! So fun watching it again. 4. Having coffee with Kim tomorrow morning! 5. This day and all it has to offer. God is good.

I know that she still has a way to go and probably is so weary that that is what she sees but when I look at it she is hitting milestones at a steady clip. Paula is calling us out for not posting gratitudes. I list them in my head every day and pray over them because it is a habit, but I just haven't wanted to spend the time typing them up, and that is not good for me nor fair to the rest of you that take the time out of your busy schedule. Thank you, Paula! Coffee, hot green tea, and low-cal hot chocolate. I have had a bad allergic reaction or a mild virus, or something. Headaches, my head either stopped up or running like crazy, mouth breathing, which, along with the post-nasal drip causes a scratchy throat, weakness, and general malaise. Hot drinks have been my friend. The temperatures are over 20 degrees cooler today. Still high humidity so it still feels as if we are swimming underwater, but I will take it. Getting rid of things we are not using and haven't used in a while. We still have a long way to go to downsize, but it is shrinking.

I actually decided to do it every day when things were scary and sucky. I needed to remind myself there's more good than bad. I encourage all my depressed clients to do this.

Just saw this Posted by Paula on 8/1/2025, 2:37 pm, in reply to "Friday gratitudes…." Drove myself to the appointment with the surgeon. I haven't driven in a couple months. Gals, I just don't have the energy to confront the mess-ups.He said the wound looks good but agrees the wound vac has to stay. Was well enough to go this morning. Temp got up to 101.7 last night. I sweated it out overnight. No temp this morning. Surgeon said that if it was wound infection, the temp wouldn't come down. I feel like a limp noodle however. Carin is filing for divorce today. Hope she goes through with it this time. Will say that driving all the way to the doctor's office was a wakeup call. I passed so many of my food hangouts and wished I could have one of each. That will be a biggie when I'm set free again. (Still want a malt!) Cooler temps

I am so glad that Carin is planning to get a divorce. I hope she goes through with it, too. If she gets a divorce, are you planning to move closer to her in the near future? Passing all your usual hangouts and craving what was there proves that it is just habits calling to you. You can decide to change your habits if you want to. It all comes down to whether you want to be a slave to your bad habits or whether you want to get healthy and have more of a life in the life you have left. Weight be damed. We have carried it so long that it doesn't really motivate us anymore. Where exactly would you pick up a bug, other than the nurses coming in or food poisoning? We have had something the last few days. Feels like we are coming down with the flu that never arrives. I finally started taking Mucinex and feel better. We haven't checked for temperature because we have had such headaches that we have been taking Tylenol anyway. We have also been weak, and all our muscles ache. Just haven't wanted to do anything. I hope you have just had a mild virus, but it makes me leery that they would bring something in on you.

Actually I wondered if I had it in me to drive 30 minutes to the surgeon and walk into the building. You know we all just push through when there isn't another choice.

I guess it could be so mild that Posted by Delta on 8/2/2025, 12:58 am, in reply to "IDK where the bug came from" healthy people would just think it was an allergy and go on about their day. Some things only affect those already dealing with something or age.
