Sunday Grats Posted by Delta on 8/18/2025, 5:35 am, in reply to "Sunday grats..." We finally got to have my great-grandson's 2nd birthday party today with the family. He was going to have a party with lots of family from both sides and kids at a venue, but he got viral pneumonia and couldn't. I got some candles without really looking at them. He blew and they went out, but as his dad reached to take them out, they relit, he blew them out again, and again and again his little expression was so priceless. We got a good laugh out of it. Glad we could all get together one last time before they move. They are leaving Tuesday morning. I am going to miss them. The house that we thought was THE house didn't pan out when we saw it in person, but we are going to look at one tomorrow that my husband just loves. I am on the fence about it. We have decided to sell the lake house, but we would like to get one closer. We are also going to look at a lake house tomorrow that looks like it would be a good replacement, and it is less than an hour away to us, our son and family, and our daughter and her two youngest. I think that it would get a lot more use if it is what it looks like online.

My five… Posted by Cindy on 8/17/2025, 1:13 pm, in reply to "Sunday grats..." 1. Quiet Sunday mornings. 2. I found and ordered a patio rug (see post above for pic). Love having something I can just spray off when it gets dirty. 3. Cooler temps this morning. It will heat up as the day goes on but I got out when it was 73 degrees and took care of some yard work! 4. At work we are starting to get ready for our annual Disability Mentoring Day which I am the chair person for. Basically everything is in my hands to set up or delegate-which I am quite good at! This week I get to go to Bowercom Communication who does our advertising at work to tape a video about DMD -what it is, how people can help, etc. I’m not horribly excited about doing this-but know that it can help bring in donations and awareness about what we do so it’s a good thing! 5. This day and all it has to offer. God is good.

This wound itches so badly and I just know better than to scratch it (on top of the dressing). But, last night, the dressing felt funny and I asked Bill to look at it. It was all bloody on the i side of the dressing. I wish I could call my nurse because she knows where we are in trying different options but I won't. That's why there are On-call nurses. I don't know what I'm going to do about the itching. I hate not being able to reach something that itches. So much, in fact, that I carry a retractable back scratcher in my purse. Everything I've read said this itching is part of the healing process. God help me!! Going to cool off a bit My hair smells so good from the stuff they use at the salon. Cosette and Lewis' relationship. Got back on track yesterday. My choices weren't the best but I got the calories down within range.

Was going to tell you Posted by Delta on 8/18/2025, 5:15 am, in reply to "Mine" that the itching was going to get intense but figured everyone is different and you might not itch as much. Ask Jess if you can take Tylenol or other pain meds. I read somewhere that itching was just low grade pain and Tylenol helps so that is what I took when the took my bag out. They didn't close the wound, just let it heal on it's own. It took months and itched like crazy. Cool (not cold) packs helped. I kept gell packs, sorta like cold eye masks, in the fridge all the time to switch out. Sure hope that there is no infection still. I don't want you going back on the vac. I love the way my hair smells after I have had it done at a salon too.

She said there was a lot of drainage, some could note infection. I am going to hold on until Jess comes out tomorrow before I panic!

Five for me... Posted by Joan on 8/17/2025, 9:16 am, in reply to "Sunday grats..." 1. Sunday - Praise the Lord! We took food for the food pantry today. Thank you, Jesus! 2. Treat Day - My turn to choose, and I want to try a new Brunch Restaurant not too far from where we live. 3. Our temperatures are in the high 90s, feels like 100s, so again I am grateful for AC at home, and really, anywhere indoor we go. 4. The lawn is green again thanks to the daily afternoon showers. 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!
