He got rid of the old soil as it was all full of roots from several years. It was a big job. I am so glad everyday is a new beginning with food. I live in the city so I don't have to worry about deer, though we do have a lot of coyotes, beavers, red foxes, o'possums, raccoons, and such from the nature preserve and the bayou that extends from it and comes through our subdivisio,n and then we have some man-made lakes here so we have a lot of waterfowl here too. The only things that really bother us are the squirrels, birds eating our vegetables and fruit. I wonder if stinky stuff would help with them? I never think of birds as smelling, so probably not.

Cinq Choses Pour Moi Posted by Krista on 9/11/2025, 9:37 am, in reply to "Thursday Grats " 1) listeners and I had fun yesterday - the All Request Hour was country singers who are also actors (Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson, Kenny Rogers, Tim McGraw, Randy Houser, Trace Adkins, Dwight Yoakum and more) 2) Bel just called from 360 Sleeve to assure me that on travel day (22) she will have an airport taxi there to pick Ray and I up and arrange for the UBERs we need to get to and from clinic from hotel. They are so wonderful to deal with here! 3) 290.0 today (down 6.2 on the Optifast since Monday) 4) cleaning out some of Ray's old clothes. I don't have things that don't fit "yet" but as soon as I do I will be also. It'll be a fun thing to do before Christmas as my goal is down 50 lbs by then! 5) I'm so hopeful about the future and getting back to exercising again!

Set me straight. You are just doing totally liquid meals with Optifast now, not one "eating" meal and the rest Optifast? It sounds like it is really working great for now and getting some weight off before surgery instead of people that are given a diet like some surgical centers here and with the nerves they end up gaining weight then they won't do surgery because it is dangerous to do it if you have gained. So glad they are addressing that with you. It is exciting that you get a new wardrobe for Christmas. I hope that everything is still good as well as slow for your dad and he gets to wait even longer to have surgery.

I can have sugar-free beverages like Gataorade Zero (3 bottles daily which counts for 6 water) I don't like plain water so this works well for me. When I had my lapband I gained weight and it was put off another 3 months and I was devastated.

Mine Posted by Paula on 9/11/2025, 8:21 am, in reply to "Thursday Grats " Getting my Covid and flu vaccines this afternoon. Thought it was tomorrow. Also grateful that CVS sent a reminder . Primary nurse coming at noon. Final decision will be made about ending homecare next week. The ability to work Krista's surgery is coming fast! Planning on going through drawers and closets this weekend to toss some of it away and to pack the rest up for Goodwill. I love getting rid of stuff.
